Canal France International launches #YouthVsFake – Balkan Youth Poster Competition

Canal France International (CFI) is launching the #YouthVsFake – Balkan Youth Poster Competition. This regional initiative is designed to raise awareness about the dangers of disinformation while empowering young people to engage in creative, critical, and civic expression.

 

The competition is open to individuals under 30 from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia. Participants are invited to design original posters that explore the impact of fake news and highlight the importance of reliable, high-quality information.

The Objectives of the Competition, which is part of the the Balkan Voices 2 and Shared Horizons project, include encouraging civic engagement and media literacy among youth, highlighting the social, political, and cultural consequences of disinformation and promotion of critical thinking and creative expression through visual communication.

Three best posters per each Western Balkans country will be awarded the following Prizes:
🥇 1st Prize – €600
🥈 2nd Prize – €300
🥉 3rd Prize – €100

Furthermore, the winning posters will be promoted both online and in public across the region as part of a wider media literacy campaign led by CFI and its partners.

Submission deadline is May 25, 2025, and applicants should submit their proposal via designated online form.
