It is not true that Satanists caused chaos in Ukraine and brought Zelensky to power
The purpose of this narrative is to portray Ukraine as a state that cannot decide for itself, as if it lacked territorial integrity and sovereignty, as if it were not independent, and therefore had to be controlled by someone else. In reality, Ukraine has been defending itself: immediately after the first attack on February 24, 2022, it responded to Russian military aggression and has continued to do so for more than three years

We analyze a post on the social network Threads which says:
THEY WANT TO REPEAT THE UKRAINIAN SCENARIO WHEN THE LEGALLY ELECTED PRESIDENT YANUKOVYCH WAS IN POWER, WHEN THE SATANISTS KILLED ONE OF THE PROTESTERS TO CREATE CHAOS IN UKRAINE AT THE TIME, AND WHEN THEY INSTALLED ZELENSKY. THEY THINK THAT IT WILL SUCEED FOR THEM NOW AS WELL.
The post makes manipulative claims originating from the Kremlin’s kitchen, with the aim of blaming the West (Satanists) for the war in Ukraine.
It is not the first time that pro-Russian channels and supporters on social networks have spread this manipulation, that Volodymyr Zelensky was installed by Western countries that previously organized Euromaidan.
The 2013 protests in Ukraine, known as Euromaidan, were spontaneous demonstrations initiated by the Ukrainian people after the government suspended preparations to sign the Association Agreement and Free Trade Agreement with the European Union.
The Euromaidan protests were then joined by students, and the demonstrations intensified due to the violence that was used to suppress them.
During those protests, there was indeed violence and fatalities affecting both protesters and members of the security forces. To this day, there is no fully clear picture of who was responsible for some of the shootings; several theories exist, but none has been unequivocally proven.
Numerous NGOs, international media outlets, and organizations describe the Euromaidan events as the largest pro-European uprising in the history of Ukraine. EUvsDisinfo states that the Euromaidan protests were not orchestrated or organized by the West, and that claims to the contrary are pro-Russian disinformation.
The post we are reviewing attempts to portray that protest and those demonstrations as being organized by some kind of Satanists, primarily alluding to Western countries.
Volodymyr Zelensky became the president of Ukraine only in 2019–five years later, through democratic elections in which he won over 70% of the vote. So, he was not “installed” during the Euromaidan, as the post we are analyzing wants to portray.
The purpose of this narrative is to portray Ukraine as a state that cannot decide for itself, as if it lacked territorial integrity and sovereignty, as if it were not independent, and therefore had to be controlled by someone else. In reality, Ukraine has been defending itself: immediately after the first attack on February 24, 2022, it responded to Russian military aggression and has continued to do so for more than three years.
Due to all of the above, we assess the post we are analyzing as untrue.
