The Baltic states are not advising Ukraine to continue the war, but are helping it defend itself

It is not true that anyone is advocating for the war in Ukraine to continue, except for Russia itself. Not even the “fighters of European democracy,” as the post ironically calls the European states and leaders who support Ukraine’s right to defend themselves, are advocating for such a thing. Although Russia is trying to portray the war as defensive, the evidence strongly suggests that it is the aggressor

We analyze a post on the social network Facebook that says:

Ukraine is being advised to continue the war by three Baltic Chihuahuas, two northern puppies, and representatives of the fascist wing of Europe, eager for more Slavic blood.

All those who advocate war in Ukraine can freely replace their children and their people with the Ukrainians, so that they can rest a little from their victories against the Russian army that fights with shovels and chips from washing machines. Russia is weak, and you will soon be crowned as great fighters for European democracy.

The Americans’ plan is the factorization of the situation on the ground. They started the war, they must finish it. They failed to bring Russia to its knees, even though they managed to spill Slavic blood, to make brotherly peoples fight again with their manipulative schemes and their selection of the rabble among nations, in this case, a comedian, a, a pe*is player.

And just look at the Romanian, who stole the victory from Calin Georgescu, Zaev is a master of buffoonery for him.

Not to offend the SDS intellectuals, they are also following the same trend in DPNE. Russophobia is a mental retardation caused by Western propaganda.

The post shares a photo with a swastika and the caption in English reads “fascism in Europe?” It is not true that there is a “fascist wing of Europe,” as falsely stated in the post we are reviewing.

No one in Europe, in the sense of states, “desires Slavic blood.” The war in Ukraine was started by Russia. EU countries support Ukraine’s right to self-defense. Both Ukrainians and Russians are Slavs, and to look for a culprit or justification for the Russian military aggression against Ukraine among European nations is unbearable.

The post does not specifically state which Baltic states are “advising Ukraine to continue the war.” However, from a statement published in “Ukrainska Pravda” on November 23, 2025, it is known that the leaders of the Nordic and Baltic states (Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania) in a conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told him that they would continue to stand by Ukraine’s side, as has been the case since the beginning of the Russian military aggression.

Our resolve comes from the fact that we know that this is not only about Ukrainian security, it is also about the wider security of Europe, their statement said.

The countries also mention that Ukraine has continuously demonstrated its seriousness for peace and, as pointed out by President Zelensky, is “working on the document prepared by the United States.”

Russia has so far not committed to a ceasefire or any steps leading to peace. Instead, Russia continues its brutal attacks against Ukrainian civilians and infrastructure. As long as Russia continues its war against Ukraine, we will also support strengthening sanctions and wider economic measures, their statement added.

Therefore, these countries are not advising Ukraine to continue the war at all, because Ukraine is under attack and is defending itself, that is, defending its territory and territorial integrity.

It is not true that anyone is advocating for the war in Ukraine to continue, except for Russia itself. Not even the “fighters of European democracy,” as the European states and leaders who support Ukraine’s right to defend themselves are ironically called, are advocating for such a thing. Although Russia is trying to portray the war as defensive, the evidence strongly suggests that it is the aggressor.

The latest phase of the large-scale war began on February 24, 2022, when Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the operation a “special military operation,” but many international observers, governments, and media outlets characterized it as an illegal invasion.

Therefore, the statement that “the Americans started the war and they must end it” is not accurate. Fact-checkers have already debunked the claim “Zelensky admits that the US started the war in Ukraine.” Politifact fact-checkers state that Russia began the military invasion of Ukraine.

The thesis in the post that “the US managed to spill Slavic blood and make brotherly peoples fight” is untrue. Ukrainian President Zelensky, otherwise insulted in the post with derogatory words, was elected in democratic elections in sovereign Ukraine, and is not “the choice of the people’s rabble.” Since the beginning of Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine, his legitimacy has been constantly questioned in a way that he is wrongly presented as someone who was appointed by an external factor and “installed,” but this is only a technique for manipulation and delegitimization of the sovereign choice of the Ukrainian people who elect their government and a president who is not “installed from outside.”

It is not true that Nicușor Dan, the President of Romania, “stole the victory from Calin Georgescu.” Before becoming president, Dan had a career in education, science, civil society, and urban reform. He graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Bucharest, after which he continued his studies in Paris and obtained both a master’s and a doctorate in mathematics in France. When he returned to Romania, he worked as a researcher at the Institute of Mathematics of the Romanian Academy from 1998 to 2016 and played a significant role in the establishment of an elite institution for higher education in the sciences, created to encourage high-achieving students to continue their university studies in Romania. As a teenager, he twice won a gold medal for Romania at the International Mathematical Olympiad. His full biography is published on the official website of the President of Romania.

Romania’s central election administration has banned pro-Russian candidate Calin Georgescu from running in the presidential election. Romania’s Central Electoral Committee’s justification for Georgescu’s suspension is his previous actions and statements contrary to the values required by the presidency, Euronews reported.

Dubbed the “TikTok Messiah,” Georgescu came out on top in the first round of Romania’s presidential elections in December. However, the country’s constitutional court annulled the vote following the declassification of intelligence reports showing Russian involvement in influencing voters through social media to support the then-relatively unknown candidate, Euronews reports.

The full decision is published here. It states, among other things, that “the candidate violated the obligation to defend democracy based on fair, full, and impartial suffrage, in accordance with the law, without changing the foundation of the current constitutional order.”

There is no Russophobia caused by “Western propaganda”, but rather EU countries are dealing with and protecting themselves from pro-Russian influence in their independent sovereign elections in their own countries.

Due to all of the above facts, we assess the post we are reviewing as untrue.
