Contrary to what is stated in the post we are reviewing, there is no evidence that the man in the video was killed allegedly because he refused to be mobilized. On the contrary, the only thing that is certain is that there was a conflict between the man dressed in civilian clothes and the personnel of the Odesa Regional Territorial Recruitment Centre

We analyze a Facebook post in which a video is shared and it says:

The Ukrainian army in Odesa kills civilians who refuse mobilization!

In the video material shared as part of the post, it can be seen how a man was taken out of the Recruitment Center in the city of Odesa and left in front of the gate. The removal is done by two uniformed individuals, while other two soldiers are then seen leaving the Centre through the gate.

Contrary to what was stated in the post we are reviewing, it is not true that the man in the video was killed. There is no evidence of him refusing mobilization. On the contrary, the only thing certain is that there was a conflict between the man, who is not wearing a uniform or military boots, but is dressed in civilian clothes and holding a mobile phone in his right hand, with the personnel from the Recruitment Center.

Proof that the man from the video was not killed is the additional footage which was not published in the post. Truthmeter.mk found that footage on the Ukrainian website Antikor.

A new scandal has erupted in Odesa regarding the Territorial Recruitment Centre. What started the conflict is still unknown. However, in the footage, a civilian man can be seen lying on the road in front of the gates of the TRC building. According to the author of the video, a serviceman allegedly hit the man with a rifle. Moreover, during the conflict, one of the TRC staff told people that even if they shot someone, they wouldn’t be punished. Further in the published video, two military personnel can be seen trying to leave the scene. They were pursued by a civilian who tried to capture their faces on camera. One of the TRC representatives began throwing stones. How the incident ended is still unknown, says Antikor.

In addition, it is noticeable that the two people who are dressed in military uniform are seen in the video not participating in taking the civilian out through the door, but appearing from behind and exiting the facility.

Due to all the above facts, we evaluate the post we are reviewing as a post in which the context is missing. It is true that an incident broke out in the building of the Territorial Recruitment Centre in Odessa, but it is not true that the man in the video material from the post was killed. This can be confirmed from the video published from another point of view on the Antikor site, where it can be seen that the man is alive, talking, and holding a mobile phone in his hand.
