The Information that Poland Will Send Troops to Ukraine is a Speculation
The source of this information is a Telegram post written by Russian military reporter Semyon Pegov on his channel. There are no photos or videos of Polish troops on Ukrainian territory fighting against Russia.
Moreover, the photo used for this article is of a Polish soldier taken on the Polish-Belarusian border in Koden, Eastern Poland on January 27 of this year, not of a Polish soldier in Ukraine taken now.
Who is Semyon Pegov?
Semyon Pegov is a former journalist for the Russian TV channel LifeNews in Donbas, eastern Ukraine. In 2017, he became a pro-Russian military blogger and now has 800,000 followers on YouTube and over one million followers on Telegram. He covered the protests in Belarus against the re-election of President Lukashenko in August 2020, as well as the Nagorno-Karabakh war between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the fall of 2020. Today, Pegov is part of the “Somalia” battalion of the armed forces of the Donetsk Republic and shares videos on Telegram of their daily operations. However, his posts are often full of disinformation.
