The information posted on the Facebook group “Zdravje so igla ne vleguva ” (Health does not come through a needle) created delusion and panic, after the youngest victim of the coronavirus, a 24-year-old woman from Tetovo treated at the Clinic for Infectious Diseases, passed away.

In this Facebook group, with over 7,200 followers, information was shared, i.e. a Facebook status in Albanian with the following content:

A BIG LIE ABOUT THE DEAD 24-YEAR-OLD WOMAN:

A woman who was with her in the room at the hospital testified: the girl did not die from COVID-19, but from bleeding for which she was not given ANY medical help!

The post was further shared by members of this group.

However, the post is a manipulation and it is a lie that the woman died from bleeding and not from COVID-19. The reason for this is simple. The woman was in an isolated, single room for the whole time during the hospitalization, as required by the protocol.

The director of the Clinic for Infectious Diseases and Febrile Conditions, Dr Milena Stevanovic, also denied the information for “Sloboden Pecat”:

The girl at first was accommodated in a single room, and then was transferred to the intensive care unit where she was also in a single room. Thus, the lady who claims this, provided she exists, should be ashamed, – said the Director of the Clinic for Infectious Diseases and Febrile Conditions, Dr Milena Stevanovic for “Sloboden Pecat”.

It later became clear that the post referred to a case of a 21-year-old girl from Kosovo, and that the allegations were about a case there, and not about a case that upset the Macedonian public.
