It Is a Lie That Zelensky Fled Ukraine to London
We are reviewing a Facebook post in which a news article was shared from the MKD Press portal, in which it is claimed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is not in Ukraine. The headline of the news says:
When the president is a comedian, the things will usually get tragic! This morning, Zelensky promised the people of Ukraine that he would be with them until the end, and now he is packing his bags for London!
In the content of the text, citing alleged diplomatic sources, the portal claims that Zelensky is out of the country, and given that the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson offered him asylum, it is assumed what the next destination is.
However, this is disinformation. The President of Ukraine is in Ukraine and he confirmed it in a video address which you can watch below:
I’m staying in the capital of Ukraine. My family is in Ukraine and the children too. My family is not betraying Ukraine, we are citizens of Ukraine. I have no right to say exactly where they are. According to the information we have, the enemy has marked me target number 1, my family as target number 2. They want to harm Ukraine politically by destroying the state leadership.
In this address, Zelenski says that he and his family and his children are in Ukraine and adds that he is not a traitor.
As a crowning proof that he did not leave Ukraine, Zelensky also released a video with the state leadership shot in the center of Kyiv, which proves that he did not leave the capital.
“We are here in Kyiv defending Ukraine,” he wrote.
As reported by Telma TV, Zelensky said he was in Kyiv and had not left Ukraine, but could not reveal the exact location, adding that there were false reports that he had left the country.
According to the British “Standard”, Zelensky stated that he will stay in Ukraine despite being a target.
Given to all the above data, we assess that it is not true that Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine fled the country to London, as incorrectly claimed in the post we are reviewing.
