This viral post on Facebook spreads false information that the deceased nurse had previously been vaccinated with two doses of Pfizer. The Ministry of Health, the Infectious Diseases Clinic in Skopje and the General Hospital in Kičevo informed that the nurse was not vaccinated at all. The post deliberately misinforms the public, creates a misconception about the effectiveness of vaccines and tells people not to get vaccinated

A Facebook post spreads untruths that a young nurse from the General Hospital in Kičevo, who died at the Infectious Diseases Clinic in Skopje as a result of the coronavirus, was vaccinated. This rather viral post – 252 interactions, 125 shares and 85 comments, falsely claims:

The girl who died today from Covid from Kičevo, nurse Mirlinda Azizi was vaccinated with two doses of Pfizer.

This is not true.

The Ministry of Health, the Infectious Diseases Clinic in Skopje and the General Hospital in Kičevo informed that the nurse was not vaccinated at all.

The director of the Infectious Diseases Clinic, Dr Milena Stevanovikj, told the portal “SAKAMDAKAZHAM.MK” that “the patient was not vaccinated against Covid-19 and had no other chronic diseases.”

The nurse did not work with Covid patients, according to epidemiological data, she became infected at a party, and this was confirmed by the Ministry of Health for “Makfax”:

The patient who died was not vaccinated and had no comorbidities. She was brought to the Clinic for Infectious Diseases in a very serious condition, last week, and previously she was treated in the hospital in Kičevo for three days. When she came to the Kičevo hospital she was in a very bad condition as well.

The director of the General Hospital in Kičevo, Dr Stanko Trpeski, told “Plusinfo” that “the deceased 28-year-old nurse was not vaccinated.”

The Kičevo General Hospital also confirmed for the portal “Novatv.mk” that “she was not vaccinated against Covid-19”.

However, despite the statements of the three health institutions – the Ministry of Health, the Infectious Diseases Clinic in Skopje and the General Hospital in Kičevo, the post spreads false information that the deceased nurse was previously “vaccinated with two doses of Pfizer”. And by doing so, it misinforms the public and creates a false image of the effectiveness of vaccines. The announcement dangerously manipulates and leads people not to be vaccinated, something that damages the immunization process and efforts to prevent the spread of the infection.
